The Babcock & Brown Investor Services Limited (BBIS) Board of Directors, comprising the Chairman and four Directors, three of whom are Independent Directors, has extensive financial, legal, commercial, management and infrastructure experience.  Four of these five are also directors of Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Limited (as noted below).

Phillip Green

Mr Green is Chief Executive of Babcock & Brown Limited.

Mr Green is the Chairman of Babcock & Brown Environmental Investments Limited and a Director of a number of companies including Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Limited, Everest Babcock & Brown, Babcock & Brown Capital Limited and of the responsible entity of Babcock & Brown Japan Property Trust. He is also a Trustee of the SCG Trust.

Mr Green holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of New South Wales. Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Mr Green worked as a Senior Manager with Arthur Anderson where he specialised in taxation. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1978.

Peter Hofbauer

Mr Hofbauer is a Non-Executive Director of BBIL and BBIS. He is a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. He has more than 15 years' experience in investment banking including corporate finance, project finance, property and structured financing transactions. Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Mr Hofbauer worked with Price Waterhouse and Partnership Pacific Limited/Westpac Bank.

Mr Hofbauer was responsible for establishing Babcock & Brown's European property and infrastructure principal finance group, including the establishment and management of a wholesale investment fund which now has more than $2 billion of property and infrastructure assets under management in the United Kingdom.

Mr Hofbauer has a Bachelor of Business from the Swinburne University. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Taxation Institute of Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

David Hamill

Dr Hamill is a Non-Executive Independent Director of BBIL and BBIS. He is also a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. Dr Hamill is currently a Director of Paridian Property Development Fund Limited and Family Care Medical Services Limited. He is also a trustee of the Queensland Museum Foundation and a Director of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Dr Hamill was Treasurer of Queensland from 1998 to 2001, Minister for Education from 1995 to 1996, and Minister for Transport and Minister Assisting the Premier on Economic and Trade Development from 1989 to 1995. He retired from the Queensland Parliament in February 2001.

Dr Hamill has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Arts from Oxford University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Hall is a Non-Executive Independent Director of BBIS.

Mr Hall is a Director of Funds SA. Until his retirement in 1999, Mr Hall was Deputy Managing Director of AMP Asset Management Australia Limited. He is a former Director of  the Bellambi Coal Company Limited, Coal Mines Australia Limited, Drayton Coal Pty Limited, Equatorial Mining Limited and United Energy Limited. 

Mr Hall has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia, Chartered Secretaries Australia, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Barry Upson

Mr Upson is a Non-Executive Independent Director of BBIL and BBIS. He is also the Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee. Mr Upson was Chairman of Powerco Limited until its 100% acquisition by BBI. He brings with him eleven years of experience and knowledge of the Powerco business.

Mr Upson is an Executive Director, including four years as Managing Director of a publicly listed non-ferrous metal extrusion company operating from New Zealand. He has held directorship roles in several companies over the past ten years, including roles as Chairman.

Mr Upson is a Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor based in New Plymouth, New Zealand. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
