Acquired a 50% interest in Ecogen, a gas-fired peaking power generation business in Victoria.

Acquired a 50% interest in Redbank Power Station, a coal-fired baseload power station in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

Acquired a 50% interest in Global Wind Partners (GWP), a specialist wind energy generation asset fund.

2004

Acquired 100% of Powerco, a leading energy and gas distribution business based in New Zealand.

2005

Acquired 100% of IEG, a leading independent gas transporter operating in the Channel Islands*, the Isle of Man, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

Babcock & Brown Infrastructure and the other GWP Security Holders elected to raise further capital by seeking a separate ASX listing for Babcock & Brown Wind Partners (BBW).

Entered into an agreement to acquire Cross Sound Cable, subject to various approvals, including US regulatory approvals (all approvals received in February 2006).

Announced offer for 100% of ordinary shares and convertible bonds in PD Ports (completed in January 2006).

Announced agreement to acquire NorthWestern (the acquisition of NorthWestern has not completed and is subject to receipt of various US regulatory approvals (shareholder approval already obtained).

Announced sale of Generation assets to Babcock & Brown Power (BBP) and divestment of Babcock & Brown Wind (BBW)

Announced offer for 100% of Alinta Limited through consortium of Babcock & Brown, Singapore Power International Ltd, Babcock & Brown Power and Babcock & Brown Wind

Acquired 51% of Tarragona Port Services (TPS) based in the northeast of Spain, providing port terminal and maritime freight transport services

BBI announced the intention to exercise the option to acquire the remaining 49% of WestNet Rail

Acquired a majority equity interest in the leading speciality dry bulk port operator in Antwerp, with sister operations in Ghent and Le Havre

BBI has terminated the NorthWestern Merger Agreement and intends not to proceed with the acquisition of NorthWestern

BBI announced the acquisition of Terminal Rinfuse Italia Group (TRI).  TRI is the largest bulk port operator in Italy, with interests in three Italian terminals - Genoa, Vado/Savona and Marghera.
